Yuzvendra Chahal's 'sugar daddy' T-shirt stirs social media after divorce
What's the story
Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and model-dancer Dhanashree Verma are officially divorced, the Bombay High Court ruled on Thursday.
Following the verdict, Chahal was seen donning a black T-shirt that bore the words "Be your own sugar daddy."
He left the court without responding to calls from paparazzi for comments.
The display comes after Verma has been subjected to intense online trolling ever since news of their split broke.
Subtle dig?
Was the quirky T-shirt a subtle dig at Verma?
Chahal's choice of T-shirt during his divorce proceedings with Verma caught everyone's attention.
It led many netizens to speculate if it was a subtle dig at his ex-wife. While the phrase generally refers to being financially independent, the timing of the outfit raised eyebrows, especially considering their ongoing alimony settlement.
People online debated whether it was an intentional jab at Verma. One person wrote, "He literally wore that." Another added, "The words on his T-shirt says all."

Chahal's alimony payment revealed amid divorce proceedings
It was revealed that Chahal is to pay Verma a little over ₹4 crore in alimony instead of the ₹60 crore as reported.
Their divorce case was expedited through a mutual consent petition which waived the mandatory six-month cooling-off period.
Justice Madhav Jamdar asked the Bandra family court to settle the duo's divorce petition by Thursday as Chahal would be unavailable soon due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments.

Verma, meanwhile, released music video on infidelity and abuse
Just hours before her divorce hearing, Verma dropped her new music video, Dekha Ji Dekha Maine.

The video shows the female lead's emotional journey as she walks away from the abusive relationship.
The release of the song, laced with themes of infidelity and empowerment, grabbed attention due to its timely release, adding a personal touch to her real-life struggles.
