
Amid delay speculations, YRF confirms August release for 'War 2'
What's the story
The eagerly awaited sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, titled War 2, will release in theaters on August 14, 2025, Yash Raj Films confirmed on Sunday.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie will star Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Tollywood's Jr. NTR in the lead.
This announcement comes amid delay speculations following Roshan's recent knee injury.

Spy Universe films
Roshan also has a cameo in another espionage drama, 'Alpha'
The film will see Roshan reprise his role from the original War opposite NTR, who is famous for RRR.
The action-packed thriller, part of the YRF Spy Universe, promises stunning visuals, high-octane combat scenes, and a riveting espionage story.
Kiara Advani also has a pivotal role in the film.
Additionally, Roshan also has a cameo in Alia Bhatt-Sharvari's Alpha, releasing in December.
Expectations
'War 2' to redefine action genre in Indian cinema
War 2 picks up where the last installment left off but with larger-than-life action set pieces.
The action sequences are designed by a team of 11 stunt coordinators, including Steve Brown (Wonder Woman), Miguel Juzgado (Warrior Nun), and Franz Spilhaus.
For the climax, three action directors have been handpicked: Spiro Razatos (Venom), Se-yeong Oh (Avengers: Age of Ultron and Snowpiercer), and Jawan and Pathaan fame Sunil Rodrigues.
