Ranveer Allahbadia summoned for third time by Mumbai Police

Mumbai's Khar Police have sent a third summons to YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, in the ongoing India's Got Latent controversy.
Per reports, the summons, sent on Tuesday (February 18), asks Allahbadia to visit the police station at the earliest to record his statement.
The development comes after the Mumbai Police denied his request to record his statement at his residence on February 13.

Allahbadia's controversial remark sparked a public backlash
The controversy around Allahbadia started when he made an inappropriate remark on comedian Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent.
The YouTuber asked a contestant if they would like to see their parents have sex or join them once and stop it forever.
This invited massive public outrage and later, legal action, with FIRs filed against not just Allahbadia but also comedian Raina and others, including Apoorva Makhija and Ashish Chanchlani, who appeared in the episode.

Other content creators summoned for questioning in the case
While several recorded their statements on February 12, Raina sought an extension till March 17 as he is currently on a tour in the US.
So far, Khar Police have recorded statements from seven people involved in the case including Chanchlani and Makhija who were judges on the show.
In related news, Chanchlani has been granted interim anticipatory bail protection by the Gauhati High Court concerning the FIR filed against him.
The matter will be finally heard on March 7.

Supreme Court's ruling on Allahbadia and 'India's Got Latent' case
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the SC also ruled that no shows featuring Allahbadia and his associates should be aired.
The apex court termed his comments "offensive, disgusting, and filthy," and slammed him for misusing free speech.
Further, the court granted him protection from arrest. The SC also ruled that no additional FIRs should be filed in the India's Got Latent case.
