Netizens questioned Navya's admission to IIM Ahmedabad
On Sunday, Navya shared a series of photos on Instagram announcing her admission to IIM Ahmedabad. While many congratulated her, some netizens expressed doubts about her admission to the elite institution. One user asked, "Just a curious question. Did you write CAT to get into this program?" Another commented, "Congratulations!! How did you get admission for this course in IIM? It is very difficult to get admission in this institute."
Navya responded to trolls with grace and dignity
Navya addressed the skepticism by sharing a picture on her Instagram Story of her celebrating her IIM acceptance. She wrote: "This is Prasad sir...who played the biggest hand in coaching and preparing me to crack the CAT/IAT entrance exams...One of the BEST teachers." Navya also liked comments from fans defending her, including one that said, "Wondering...Why do people think the celebrity can't crack the entrance...if someone is born into a renowned family, it doesn't mean they can't achieve academic excellence."
Navya's clear stance on not joining Bollywood
In one of the previous interview with Hindustan Times, Navya clarified that she has no plans to join the film industry like her brother Agastya Nanda who made his debut with Zoya Akhtar's Netflix film The Archies. She mentioned that she comes from a business-oriented family and has always aspired to follow in their footsteps. This clear and respectful stance demonstrates her individuality and commitment to her career goals.
Navya's social activism and business pursuits
Apart from her academic achievements, Navya has been actively involved in social causes. In 2021, she launched Project Naveli to combat gender inequality in India. Her podcast, What The Hell Navya, which features her mother Shweta and grandmother Jaya Bachchan as guests, discusses various topics related to feminism and women's roles in society. Despite facing criticism for her IIM admission, Navya continues to inspire with her dedication to social change and academic excellence.
