Actor Mohsin Khan reveals he suffered heart attack at 31
Mohsin Khan, a popular television actor, famously known for his role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, recently disclosed that he suffered a mild heart attack last year. The 32-year-old actor stated that the health scare was due to a fatty liver condition, which kept him unwell for nearly a year. Khan opened up about his health issues and career journey in an interview with Pinkvilla.
Khan took a 2.5-year break after 1,800 episodes
During the interview, Khan revealed that he took a 2.5-year hiatus after completing 1,800 episodes of the Star Plus family drama. "I have completed 10 years in the industry. Out of the 10 years, I have continuously worked for 7.5 years and have taken a break of 2.5 years," he said. The actor further explained that his health issues extended this planned break.
'Fatty liver caused a mild heart attack,' Khan revealed
Khan shared that he had initially planned to take a break for about a year, but his health deteriorated. "I developed a fatty liver which caused a mild heart attack. I haven't revealed this to anyone before," he said. The actor was hospitalized for some time and had to switch between three different hospitals for treatment. Khan said that the incident severely impacted his immunity, causing him to fall sick frequently. However, he assured his health has significantly improved.
Khan highlighted importance of healthy lifestyle
Khan attributed his health issues to an unhealthy lifestyle, including irregular sleep patterns and poor diet. He said, "The condition is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. It all happens when you don't have a fixed sleep pattern, don't eat right, all this matters." To note, fatty liver is a condition where excess fat accumulates in the liver cells. The actor emphasized the importance of being conscious about one's health as such conditions are quite common.

Khan began his career as the second assistant director on the film Koyelaanchal. He made his television debut with Star Plus's Nisha Aur Uske Cousins. The actor gained fame for his role as Kartik Goenka in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which he played until October 18, 2021. He was recently seen in the OTT series Jab Mila Tu, where he portrayed the character Maddy.
