Strangest Super Bowl ad ever: Features Ye on dentist's chair
What's the story
The 2025 Super Bowl had Kendrick Lamar as its headliner, but Ye (formerly Kanye West) made sure he wasn't overlooked.
The famous rapper and fashion mogul recently bought a local television spot during the game to promote his Yeezy fashion brand.
The bizarre ad was uniquely low-fi and shot on an iPhone while Ye sat in a dentist's chair.
Though not aired nationally, it made it to the screens of Los Angeles—one of America's major markets.

Ye's unusual ad script
Wearing dark sunglasses and a blue hoodie, a noticeably drowsy Ye revealed that this was his Super Bowl ad for his fashion brand, Yeezy.
In the ad, Ye jokingly said, "So what's up, guys, I spent like all the money put a commercial on these new teeth. So once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone."
He then directed viewers to his brand's website with a slightly stammered, "Um... um...go to yeezy.com."

Controversy background
Possible hidden message in Ye's ad
The location of the shoot—a dentist's office—could be a subtle nod to allegations made by his former chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos last year.
Previously, Yiannopoulos alleged that a celebrity dentist had addicted Ye to nitrous in a scheme to "extract millions of dollars from him."
He backed these allegations with screenshots of group texts between himself, the dentist, and Ye.
In the messages, the rapper was seen asking for nitrous and the dentist complying.

Ye's recent controversies and previous Super Bowl ad
The release of this ad comes amid criticism aimed at Ye by the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee.
They condemned him for an antisemitic rant on X (formerly Twitter), where he made several racist statements and refused to apologize.
This isn't the first time Ye has used a local Super Bowl ad to promote his brand, he did so last year too, although that advertisement wasn't broadcast in New York or Los Angeles.
