'Ramayana': Yash begins filming, prepares for epic war scenes
What's the story
Kannada superstar Yash has reportedly started shooting for his part as Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's much-anticipated mythological drama, Ramayana.
The news comes months after Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Ram, wrapped up his portions last year.
The current schedule will continue for a week and will majorly revolve around war sequences, reported Mid-Day.
The first part of this ambitious two-part series will release on Diwali 2026.

'Ramayana' shoot: Other key actors join Yash on set
The source further revealed that the current set-piece doesn't need Kapoor's presence as it's not the Ram-Ravana face-off.
Instead, other key actors have joined Yash for this leg of filming.
The star-studded cast of Ramayana includes Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, among others.
The second installment of this epic saga is slated to hit theaters during Diwali 2027.
