Critics Choice Awards 2025: 'Shōgun,' 'Emilia Pérez' win big

The 30th Critics Choice Awards, which took place on Friday night in Los Angeles, honored the best of TV and cinema from the past year.
Among films, Conclave and Wicked topped the nominations list with 11 nods each while Shōgun ruled the TV category.

'Conclave' and 'Shōgun' shone in acting categories
Conclave bagged the Best Acting Ensemble award, while Anora won Best Picture.
Tadanobu Asano and Moeka Hoshi (Shōgun) were awarded Best Supporting Actor and Actress (Drama Series) respectively.
Shōgun also won Best Drama Series and Hiroyuki Sanada won Best Actor (Drama Series) for the same show.
The Best Animated Feature award was given to The Wild Robot while Zoe Saldana clinched the Best Supporting Actress award for Emilia Pérez.
A Real Pain's Kieran Culkin was named Best Supporting Actor.

'Hacks' and 'The Penguin' triumphed in comedy, limited series
In the comedy series category, Shrinking's Michael Urie and Hacks's Hannah Einbinder won Best Supporting Actor and Actress respectively.
Nobody Wants This's Adam Brody and Hacks's Jean Smart were named Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series.
The Penguin saw Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti take home the awards for Best Actor and Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television.
Baby Reindeer won Best Limited Series.

'Emilia Pérez' and 'Wicked' excelled in foreign film, direction
Best Foreign Language Film went to Emilia Pérez, with its song El Mal also winning Best Song.
The awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress were given to Coralie Fargeat for The Substance and Demi Moore for her role in the same film.
Wicked's director Johm M Chu won Best Director while the film also bagged awards for Best Production Design by Nathan Crowley and Lee Sandales, and Best Costume Design by Paul Tazewell.

'Challengers' and 'The Substance' led in technical categories
Challengers bagged Best Score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and Best Editing by Marco Costa.
The Substance won Best Hair and Makeup by its team.
Paul Lambert, Stephen James, Rhys Salcombe, and Gerd Nefzer from Dune: Part Two took home Best Visual Effects.
Jarin Blaschke won Best Cinematography for Nosferatu while Adrien Brody was named Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist.

'Deadpool & Wolverine' and 'X-Men '97' won in comedy, animation
Deadpool & Wolverine shared the award for Best Comedy with A Real Pain.
X-Men '97 won the Best Animated Series.
John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA bagged the Best Talk Show while Ali Wong: Single Lady was awarded the Best Comedy Special.
Squid Game won the award for Best Foreign Language Series.
Despite the massive buzz, All We Imagine As Light and Citadel: Honey Bunny lost in the Best Foreign Language Film and Best Foreign Language Series categories, respectively.
