'Lost its innocence': Paresh Rawal criticizes 'Phir Hera Pheri'
What's the story
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, veteran actor Paresh Rawal expressed his disappointment with Phir Hera Pheri, the sequel to Priyadarshan's critically acclaimed Hera Pheri.
Though both the parts were loved by viewers, Rawal believes it didn't meet expectations.
Directed by Neeraj Vora, the movie starred Rawal, Rimi Sen, Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar, and Rajpal Yadav.
Film critique
Rawal criticized 'Phir Hera Pheri' for losing its 'innocence'
Rawal said, "Everybody was overconfident. It lost its innocence."
"Sorry to say, but woh film nahi bani thi bara bar. I would tell Neeraj Vohra, tu bhar raha hai ismein, it isn't required."
"I asked him to keep the simplicity that was there in the first film. "
"It will get messy if you overfill the film. People will laugh at anything; they will laugh if somebody is running naked, but we don't have to run naked."
Casting changes
'Kartik isn't part of the film now': Rawal
Further in the interview, Rawal also explained Hera Pheri 3's casting.
"Kartik Aaryan was signed for the film. At that time, the story of the film was different. Isko Raju samajh ke pakad ke leke aaye thay, par ye alag hi kirdar tha."
"Kartik wasn't cast in Raju's role."
Commenting on the final plans, he added, "Kartik isn't part of the film now. The film's story has been changed."
Priyadarshan will direct Hera Pheri 3.
