Why Kangana Ranaut refused to work with Shah Rukh Khan
Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut recently revealed that she turned down film offers opposite industry bigwigs like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Akshay Kumar. The actor-director made these revelations during an appearance on the television show Aap Ki Adalat. She also shared her struggles in the industry during the early stages of her career. Here are more details on this.
She rejected 'Zero,' 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan,' and 'Singh is Bliing'
Ranaut disclosed that she was offered lead roles in Shah Rukh's Zero (2018), Salman's Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), and Kumar's Singh Is Bliing (2015). She also mentioned that Aamir had approached her for a film. However, she chose to decline these offers as she wanted to work on unconventional projects like her upcoming movie Emergency, where she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
'As a female actor, I created my own existence'
Ranaut said, "Will Aamir Khan allow me to give the best performance? Salman is a larger-than-life star. Temptations..they're giants of the industry." She added, "As a female actor, I created my own existence (astitva) in the industry. Nobody wants to make a movie on an old woman, who was thrice our Prime Minister (Indira Gandhi)." "I felt I have got a separate opportunity. Like Vyjayantimala, Sridevi used to do movies on their own. "
Her career took off after 'Queen'
Ranaut also spoke about her early struggles in the film industry, stating that there was a time when she found it difficult to secure roles. However, her career trajectory changed after the success of her 2014 film Queen. Despite receiving numerous offers post-Queen, she was selective about the projects she chose to work on. After Queen, she has worked on movies like Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Thalaivii.
