Why Aamir Khan was unsure about 'Andaz Apna Apna's completion
What's the story
Aamir Khan recently reminisced about the difficult production of his memorable comedy, Andaz Apna Apna, in an interview with India Today.
The film, originally a box office flop, has since grown in popularity and cult classic status through satellite broadcasts.
Khan disclosed that during the shoot, co-stars Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor weren't on speaking terms, making him think the film might never be completed.
Actor's insight
Khan's concerns over Kapoor-Tandon's conflicts
Speaking of the conflicts between Kapoor and Tandon, Khan said, "Raveena and Karisma were having some conflicts. I used to think how this film would ever be completed. People didn't want to shoot with each other."
Despite this, Khan had faith in the film. "It was so wacky and mad. We were at our peak, Salman and I."
"But the film didn't even run for a week. I was flummoxed, because I thought it was a great film."
Actor's belief
'Every generation has seen it...'
Khan added, "But now I believe it is the number one film in home entertainment. Every generation has seen it, every generation wants to see it."
In an earlier interview, Kapoor also confirmed off-screen tensions: "In Andaz Apna Apna, there was a time when none of the actors were talking to each other. This film was made with all of us not even speaking to each other."
The film, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, also starred Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor.
