The Tamil fantasy film, Kingston, starring G.V. Prakash Kumar and Divyabharathi, will stream on ZEE5 once its theatrical run ends, reported Filmibeat.
The film, which was released on March 7, may arrive on the streamer in the first week of April.
Directed by debutant Kamal Prakash and produced by Prakash under Parallel Universe Pictures alongside Bhavani Sre and Umesh KR Bansal (Zee Studios).
Movie synopsis
'Kingston' plot: A tale of mystery and self-discovery
Set in the coastal village of Thoovathur near Thoothukudi, Kingston narrates the story of a local fisherman, Kingston, who works for Thomas, a powerful leader of a smuggling ring.
Unknowingly, he is smuggling drugs instead of sea cucumbers.
When his girlfriend Divya is kidnapped, Kingston ventures into the cursed waters to save her and learns truths about his grandfather's past and the wrongful blaming of an innocent man named Bose.
The film has received mixed reviews.
Sequels
Kumar has hinted at more parts in the franchise
In an interview with The New Indian Express, Kumar said, "Kingston has a potential for multiple sequels that offer unique worlds and stories."
"But each film has its own story which can work as a standalone as well. Based on how the first part is received, we will work on the subsequent films."
