Clooney-Pitt reunite in 'Wolfs': Where to watch, what to expect
What's the story
Apple TV+ has reportedly paid Hollywood A-listers Brad Pitt and George Clooney more than $35M each for their upcoming movie Wolfs.
The film—set to premiere exclusively on the streaming platform—also stars Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan.
It was originally scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release but will now have a limited run in select US theaters before debuting on Apple TV+ on September 27.
Here's more about the film.
Movie details
'Wolfs' plot and cast details
Wolfs is an action-comedy that features Pitt and Clooney as professional fixers tasked with covering up a high-profile crime.
The plot thickens when their night takes an unexpected turn, forcing them to collaborate.
Notably, the duo has famously featured alongside each other in the Ocean's movies (Ocean's Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen), as well as the Coen Brothers movie Burn After Reading.
The film is directed by Jon Watts, known for his work on the Tom Holland-starring Spider-Man trilogy.
High cost
Despite high cost, Apple has approved a sequel to 'Wolfs'
Per a New York Times report, an anonymous source revealed that Pitt and Clooney were each paid over $35M for Wolfs, while writer-director Watts received more than $15M.
This high expenditure has raised concerns about the film's potential return on investment, given its limited theatrical release.
Apple TV+ has been known for investing heavily in high-quality content, but its shows and movies often struggle to gain substantial viewership.
Despite these concerns, Apple has already approved a sequel to Wolfs.
