Swarovski heiress bedazzles with wedding gown made of 50,000 crystals
The Swarovski heiress, Victoria Swarovski got married to property mogul Werner Mürz in Italy and her wedding gown was the talk of the town. Swarovski wore a custom-designed dress that was embellished with 500,000 Swarovski crystals. Ace designer Michael Cinco styled the sparkling dress which had a 26-foot veil and train which she paired with Jimmy Choo heels.
Elizabeth Taylor: The queen of whacky wedding style
Elizabeth Taylor was what you can call "Never a bridesmaid, always a bride"; she married 8 times. Her 2nd wedding dress was a flared suit after which came a dramatic hooded gown. For her 4th wedding, she chose a green dress with a hood and long sleeves. Her 5th gown was the most bizarre-yellow dress and hyacinths and lilies in a dramatic braid.
When these beauties tied the knot in black
For her 2nd outing as a bride, Marilyn Monroe opted for a prim dark suit with a white fur collar when she married the baseball great Joe DiMaggio who she had eloped with. In 1997 Sarah Jessica Parker got married in a black Giambattista Valli gown when she married Matthew Broderick. In 2013, Shenae Grimes married Josh Beech in a black Vera Wang gown.
It was Queen Victoria who brought white in fashion
White was not always the color of wedding dresses, most women used to wear red gowns on weddings. In fact, it was Queen Victoria who unintentionally set the trend that would continue for the next few centuries.
Celebrities who by far wore the craziest
When Celine Dion married manager Rene Angeli in 1994, her wedding dress had a 20-foot train and to top it up, she wore a "tiara that weighed seven pounds and contained 2,000 Austrian crystals". Kevin Federline's wedding to Britney Spears in 2004 gathered headlines when she turned up in a mini-skirt. But, Pamela Anderson's white-bikini-gown when she married Kid Rock was the whackiest.
