'Sadak 2' marks Mahesh's return to direction, Pooja's to acting
Sadak 2 is also special for Mahesh, as it marks his return to direction after a stunning gap of 20 years. He last helmed Kartoos, which released in 1999, starring Dutt, Manisha Koirala, and Jackie Shroff. Pooja, meanwhile, returns to acting after 18 long years. The 47-year-old was last seen in Rahul Bose-directed Everybody Says I am Fine, starring Bose, and Koel Purie.
Filming has commenced, Alia informs, adds "I am petrified"
Sadak 2, being produced under Vishesh Films, will feature Alia Bhatt, Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Pooja. The filming has already commenced, as was confirmed by Alia through her Instagram post two days ago. She captioned it as, "I begin shoot in a few days and honestly, I'm petrified. I feel like a tiny mouse trying to climb a beautiful, immense, emotional mountain."
'That's my father, now also my director, holding the clap'
Interestingly, Alia wasn't considered for 'Sadak 2' initially
Talking about Sadak 2, Mahesh had earlier revealed that Alia was not on his mind while writing the script. However, it was Dutt, Pooja, Mukesh (Bhatt, his brother), who suggested narrating the script to her. "We gave a full narration to her and by the end of it, she was left shaking and crying. That was one hell of a triumph," Mahesh added.
Apart from 'Sadak 2,' Alia has four other projects
Apart from Sadak 2, Alia is also busy with Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, co-starring her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan; and Karan Johar's another multi-starrer, Takht. She also has Rajamouli's RRR, which releases on July 30, 2020. In addition, she will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah, opposite Salman Khan. Interestingly, this is the first time the two stars would be working together.
