Wondering what Kabir Singh would do during lockdown? Shahid answers
Celebrities are finding newer ways to kill time at home. And looks like, Shahid Kapoor is using the new-found extra time to get more candid with his fans. Last night, after India was put under a 21-day lockdown amid ongoing coronavirus crisis, Shahid started an online Q&A session, where he was asked what his infamous character Kabir Singh would do in such a situation.
Chalo, let's chat, Shahid wrote on Twitter
"Chalo let's chat," Shahid wrote on Twitter, and his fans made the most of the opportunity. But the one query that took the cake was, "What would Kabir Singh do during a lockdown for 21 days?" Well, that's a good question as the eccentric surgeon surely can't take a stroll on his Royal Enfield or manage too many smoke breaks. Take a guess, guys!
Kabir Singh would hug Preeti and make do, Shahid reveals
Noting that even the ever-rebellious Kabir Singh would not look to break rules in such a grim situation, he would "hug Preeti (the dog) and make do". "Rules are rules bro," the actor cheekily added. In Sandeep Vanga's blockbuster Kabir Singh, that released last year, Shahid played a brilliant surgeon, who loved Preeti, the girl, as much as he loved Preeti, his beloved pet.
Hear it from the horse's mouth!
'Kabir Singh' was a blockbuster, but was heavily criticized
While Kabir Singh went on to become Shahid's biggest-ever solo hit, earning Rs. 379 crore worldwide, it was heavily slammed by critics for its unabashed glorification of misogyny and toxic masculinity. In our review of the film, we wrote, "Given the cliched storytelling and mediocre writing, the film packs way too many flaws that even Shahid can't redeem it by end of it all."
In another tweet, Shahid urged fans to stay home
In another tweet, Shahid urged fans to stay home and take up new hobbies for the next three weeks, while India combats the deadly virus. He wrote, "Stay mentally emotionally and physically strong. Spread love. Have faith. Pray often. Speak to all those who matter daily. Meditate. Read. Cook. See the sky turn bluer every day. 21 days. Will pass."
Filming of Shahid's 'Jersey' remains suspended
Separately, on the work front, Shahid will be seen in sports movie Jersey. However, like all productions across the globe, the movie's filming remains indefinitely suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has so far killed 18,906 around the world and sickened over 4 lakh.
