Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Delhi Files' first part locks release date
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has announced the release date for his upcoming movie, The Delhi Files. On Thursday, he revealed that the film will be released in two parts due to its powerful narrative. The first part, titled The Bengal Chapter, is set to premiere on August 15 next year. "After years of research, the story of #TheDelhiFiles is too powerful for one part," he wrote on social media.
'The Delhi Files' production and previous works
Agnihotri has directed The Delhi Files, with Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi serving as producers. The film's tagline is "Right To Life." Last year, Agnihotri directed The Vaccine War, a film about the development of a COVID-19 vaccine in India. His previous work also includes the mega-blockbuster The Kashmir Files which grossed over ₹300 crore globally.
Agnihotri's journey in Bollywood
Agnihotri began his directorial career in 2005 with the film Chocolate. Since then, he has directed several films including Hate Story, Zid, and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. His last directorial venture was The Vaccine War which featured Nana Patekar, Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, and Nivedita Bhattacharya. A commercial failure, it is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
