Delhi crowd damages Virat Kohli's wax statue at Madame Tussauds
India cricket captain Virat Kohli boasts of a massive fan following across the globe. Given the euphoria, it is not a surprise that people turned up in huge numbers at the unveiling of his wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museum in his hometown New Delhi. However, the fans became uncontrollable after seeing the statue which led to its right ear getting damaged.
Officials were quick to get hold of the situation
The officials at the museum were quick to respond and immediately removed Kohli's statue. They then sent it to the workshop for repairs. Kohli is the third Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev to get waxed at the prestigious museum in the national capital. The authorities are now planning to add MS Dhoni's statue as well.
Here's what museum director Anshul Jain said about Kohli
"Virat Kohli has made tremendous contributions to national and international cricket. His passion and commitment to the Indian cricket team have inspired many youngsters. We had to get his statue after lots of requests from his fans," he said at the unveiling.
