Anushka reveals how she kept her wedding a secret
On December 11, 2017, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's hush-hush wedding in Italy came as a surprise for everyone. Given their immense popularity, complete privacy for their D-day was certainly not expected, and doing just that was a Herculean task for them. They went to great lengths to keep their wedding a secret, which also included providing their fake names, said Anushka recently.
Virat-Anushka's Italy wedding had only 42 guests in attendance
Unlike her Bollywood counterparts, Anushka made sure that her wedding with Virat was a private affair and had only 42 guests in attendance. Apart from the couple's family and close friends, only the wedding planners, her manager and stylist were aware of her wedding in Italy. "We even used fake names while talking to the caterer; I think Virat's was Rahul," she added.
Virat's fake name was inspired by Shah Rukh Khan's screen-name
Virat's fake name was very filmy and was inspired by Shah Rukh Khan, who happened to be Anushka's first onscreen hero. For the uninitiated, SRK was named as Rahul in eight of his movies including Darr, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Chennai Express, etc.
'Wanted to have home-style wedding, not big, celebrity wedding'
Furthermore, Anushka stated that she and Virat wanted to have a home-style wedding, instead of a big fat celebrity wedding, with all the media glare. "We wanted to have a home-style wedding. I wanted it to be about Virat and me marrying each other, and not this big celebrity wedding. The energy at our wedding was blessed," the actress was quoted saying to Vogue.
Anushka taking a break post 'Zero' debacle
After her wedding, Anushka was working round-the-clock and gave three releases in 2018: Pari, Sui Dhaaga and Zero. But now she decided to take some time out for herself and hasn't signed any movie after Zero. "I need to take some time off before putting myself in the next project. I don't want to sign films just for the heck of it," she stated.
