Viraj Ghelani explains his 'worst experience' remark about SRK's 'Jawan'
Actor Viraj Ghelani recently faced backlash for his comments about having a "worst experience" while working on Shah Rukh Khan's film Jawan, directed by Atlee. In an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times, the actor clarified his statement, explaining that it was taken out of context and blown out of proportion. Ghelani had a minor role in Jawan, which was significantly reduced in the final cut.
Ghelani's role in 'Jawan' was heavily edited
Ghelani revealed that his role in Jawan was heavily edited, which led to his disappointment. "I shot for around 13-14 days but only the scenes that were shot on day one of the shoot were taken in the final cut," adding that he wasn't aware that his part was getting majorly cut. "When I went to watch the movie with my fiance, I was a bit disappointed in that particular moment. It wasn't my worst experience shooting," he added.
'It was just disheartening to see only one scene'
Ghelani further added, "It was just disheartening to see only one scene at the premiere. I had even told my friends ki mai Shah Rukh ki film mai araha hu, so vahan thoda bura laga tha (I told my friends that I'll be in an SRK-led film)." He added, "I am also a content creator so I understand editing. Mujhe bhi kuch video mai extra lag raha hota hai toh mai kaatt deta hu."
Ghelani clarified 'rude behavior' comment
Ghelani also addressed his previous statement about experiencing rude behavior on the Jawan set. He clarified that it was not directed at Atlee or Khan, but rather at some random individuals present on the set. "Atlee was actually the sweetest. He follows me on Instagram and he even called me for a role in Baby John," Ghelani said. "I didn't even shoot with Shah Rukh sir, our sequences were on different days. Baat ka batangad bangaya (blown out of proportion)."
Ghelani's 'revenge' comment against Dharma Productions was a joke
Ghelani also addressed his recent controversial statement where he asked his followers to flood the comments section of Govinda Naam Mera's trailer as a form of 'revenge' against Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. He clarified that this was said in a light-hearted, humorous manner and not intended to incite any negative action. "I just should have chosen my words wisely," Ghelani concluded.
