After Alok Nath's defamation case, Vinta says she will fight
What's the story
Writer-producer Vinta Nanda's allegations of sexual assault against Alok Nath gave a much-needed push to India's #MeToo movement.
In his defense, Alok has, however, rubbished the allegations and filed a defamation case against Vinta, but she remained undaunted.
Talking about Alok's legal route, Vinta said she isn't scared of any defamation case.
"We are going to fight out legally," her lawyer stated.
Alok-Vinta fight
Not received any proceeding orders yet: Vinta's lawyer
Alok and his lawyer have claimed that they have sent a defamation notice to Vinta.
But Vinta's lawyer has denied this. He said they haven't received any proceeding orders yet.
However, the lawyer also stated that whatever the proceeding will be, they will fight the battle legally and "will deal with everything following due process of law".
Lawyer's Statement
"Alok's defamation suit is meant to distract from allegations"
Vinta's lawyer further stated that Alok's defamation suits are primarily meant to delay and distract from the gravity of the allegation.
He added that Vinta will not be intimidated by threats or legal suits and will get every help she seeks.
"It is pertinent to note my client is further humiliated in continuity for which we will legally take recourse," the lawyer added.

Alok demands apology from Vinta and Re 1 as compensation
Alok has sued Vinta for defamation after she accused him of raping her 19 years ago.
He has, reportedly, filed the case along with his wife Ashu Nath.
In the defamation suit, Alok has demanded an unconditional apology from Vinta along with a compensation of Re 1.
Ashu even recorded her statement on Monday saying their reputation has been damaged because of Vinta.
