OTT: Vikrant Massey-Sara Ali Khan's 'Gaslight' set for Disney+ premiere
Young age stars Sara Ali Khan and Vikrant Massey's upcoming film Gaslight is set for a direct-to-digital debut. The film, touted to be a psychological thriller, will land on Disney+ Hotstar on March 31. Directed by Pawan Kripalani (Bhoot Police, Phobia), the upcoming project co-stars Chitrangda Singh (Desi Boyz, Yeh Saali Zindagi). The film is yet to receive a trailer. Here's more.
Why does this story matter?
Khan made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with Kedarnath, a critical and commercial success, and went on to earn plaudits for her work in Atrangi Re and Simmba. Massey, on the other hand, transitioned from television and has made an exemplary mark through projects such as Haseen Dillruba, Forensic, Love Hostel, and A Death in the Gunj. Their debut collaboration, thus, will attract viewers.

'Gaslight' will possibly have a gritty, unique plot
A report in PeepingMoon shed some light on the plot. Reportedly, "The plot of Gaslight is so unique that it might not be appealing to theatergoers. The decision to release it digitally was made by the producers because they believe that this kind of movie has historically performed better on OTT than in traditional theaters. [OTT release] will protect their financial interests."
Massey earlier shared his experience of working on 'Gaslight'
Elaborating on his experience, Massey told OTTPlay, "It was fantastic working with Sara and Chitrangda. Working with [producers] Ramesh Taurani and Akshay Puri was also my first experience." "I had a ball, especially with Sara, because she's such an incredible person and most of my work was with her. I had a great time working with them...and am looking forward to that film."
What's cooking on the work front for both the actors?
Speaking of the two actors' upcoming slew of films, Khan has several interesting projects coming up. These are Kannan Iyer's Ae Watan Mere Watan, Anurag Basu's Metro...In Dino, and Homi Adjania's Murder Mubarak. She was also roped in for Aditya Dhar's The Immortal Ashwatthama, but was reportedly replaced. Massey will next be seen in 12th Fail, Mumbaikar, and Hasseen Dillruba 2, among other projects.
