Vikrant Massey's chilling confession: Actor had a near-fatal schoolyard incident
In a recent interview on the Prakhar Ke Pravachan podcast, Indian actor Vikrant Massey opened up about a personal incident from his school days that significantly changed his perspective on violence. Massey admitted to punching a schoolboy, who was epileptic, in the jaw during recess, an act he deeply regrets. At the time, he was practicing karate and confessed to feeling aggressive and invincible.
Massey recalls terrifying aftermath of schoolyard punch
The incident took a horrifying turn when the boy began frothing at the mouth and lost consciousness, an image that deeply impacted Massey. "I saw this boy frothing in front of me and losing consciousness," he shared. The actor was then confronted by the victim's older brother, but his primary concern was the potential fatality of his actions rather than his own physical pain.
Massey abandoned karate, adopted non-violent stance post incident
Haunted by the fear of causing serious harm, Massey decided to quit karate and refrain from instigating violence. "I left it all, stopped doing karate, because I realized that I could kill someone," he explained. Following this incident, Massey often found himself on the receiving end of fights as he chose not to retaliate.
Massey reflects on past incident, warns against deceptive appearances
When questioned about his decision to stop fighting back, Massey clarified, "Fortunately, rather, I don't know. Thankfully, rather, I never raised my hand on anybody again because the memory of that boy frothing at the mouth was still so sharp." He also drew parallels between his personal experience and his character Rishu from the films Haseen Dillruba and its sequel Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba. Despite his non-violent demeanor now, Massey cautioned that appearances can be deceptive.
