'They wanted to cut my leg...'
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vikram was asked about the struggles he faced before his career took off. He said, "My life has been a struggle from the day I was born." "I had an accident, I was bedridden for three years...I had 23 surgeries. They wanted to cut my leg. Then I struggled for 10 years to get a film, do it on my own, and every film of mine would have 20 people in the audience."
Vikram only wished somebody to recognize him, his capabilities
Vikram further said, "I wanted somebody to recognize me, to say that I can be an actor..." The Iru Mugan actor emphasized his "worst nightmare" is his life turning out to be a dream. In a past interview, he recalled he was on crutches when he first met his wife: "Everyone knew I couldn't walk. And I told her (wife) I'm going to be a superstar. Later, she told me that she thought I had delusions of grandeur."
Vikram was most recently seen in 'Thangalaan'
To achieve stardom, Vikram also reflected on his early career days, where he played background roles and later dubbed for other actors in Tamil versions of their films. Vikram was most recently seen in the Tamil-language film Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith and co-starring Malavika Mohanan. The movie completed its theatrical run in Tamil Nadu and was released in Hindi-speaking regions on Friday.
