Sethupathi's disappointment over film's Oscars snub
Despite its acclaim, Super Deluxe did not make it to India's official entry for the Oscars in 2019 and Gully Boy was chosen over it. Back then, Sethupathi said, "That was heartbreaking for us as well." He added that he would have still wanted the film to go to the Oscars even if he was not part of it. Currently available for streaming on Netflix, Super Deluxe holds an impressive IMDb rating of 8.2/10.
