'Thalapathy 68': Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila join Vijay's next film
Amid the raging success of Leo, actor Vijay's fans have another reason to rejoice. Their favorite actor, whom they lovingly call "Thalapathy," on Tuesday performed the Pada Poojai of his upcoming film, tentatively named Thalapathy 68, backed by AGS Entertainment. The makers of the movie also shared a video of the ceremony on social media, further revealing the latest cast additions, including Prabhu Deva.

With a huge fan following, especially in Tamil Nadu, Vijay is one of the leading actors in Indian cinema. The untitled film marks the 68th film of his career since making his leading role debut in 1992. In the three decades of his career, Vijay has delivered many commercial blockbusters as well as critically acclaimed films, including Varisu, Mersal, and Sarkar, among others.

Vijay, along with the film's director Venkat Prabhu, performed the aforementioned pooja on Tuesday. He also personally welcomed the rest of the cast of Thalapathy 68, including Meenakshi Chaudhary, who is reportedly paired opposite him. Among the other actors who have joined Vijay's film are Sneha, Laila, Prashanth, Jayaram, Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajay Raj, Mohan, Aravind Akash, VTV Ganesh, Yogi Babu, and Ameer.

Everything to know about 'Thalapathy 68'
Vijay's next marks his second collaboration with ASG Entertainment after their 2019 superhit film Bigil, directed by Atlee. It is also the second time that Vijay will be working with Prabhu after their Pudhiya Geethai, which was released in 2003. Thalapathy 68's music is being helmed by music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. The release date for the film is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Vijay's latest release, Leo, has entered the Rs. 200 crore club at the domestic front after it minted Rs. 35 crore on Monday in India. Co-starring Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Sarja, Leo is part of filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj's Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Notably, Kanagaraj has weaved a link between Leo and his past two films Kaithi (2019) and Vikram (2022).
