'GOAT' advanced bookings: Vijay's film hits record-breaking ₹16cr!
Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) has reportedly collected ₹16cr in worldwide advanced booking. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, set to hit theaters on Thursday (September 5). It is rumored to be Vijay's penultimate film before he enters politics. The high-octane action entertainer has already sold tickets worth ₹11cr for its opening day.
'GOAT' collected ₹11.2cr from Tamil-speaking regions
Per Sacnilk, the movie has sold tickets worth ₹11cr for Day 1, with additional blocked seats pushing this number to over a staggering ₹14.6cr. The film has collected ₹11.2cr from Tamil-speaking regions alone, averaging around ₹208 per ticket, the report added. In Maharashtra, advance sales have only reached ₹4 lakh, while the Delhi-NCR region has contributed less than ₹2 lakh. Meanwhile, GOAT has made ₹5.5cr in the US, surpassing the advanced booking records previously held by Vijay's film Beast.
Film features ensemble cast, high production values
The film features an ensemble cast including, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, and many others. It also features Meenakshi Chaudhary, Laila, Yogi Babu, and Vaibhav, among others in important roles. The film's reported budget is over ₹400cr, making it one of the costliest films made this year, reportedly. It has original music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni.
