Vijay's 'GOAT' secures U/A certificate from the censor board
Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated film, GOAT, is all set to hit the screens on September 5. The movie has been directed by Venkat Prabhu and has already generated a lot of buzz with its high-octane action-packed trailer featuring Vijay in a double role. The latest update from the makers reveals that the film has cleared its censor formalities, and has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
'GOAT' expected to set new box office records
The film, also known as The Greatest of All Time, is expected to make a significant impact at the box office. It is particularly anticipated to achieve major success in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. This comes after the postponement of Dulquer Salmaan's Malayalam film Lucky Bhaskar from the same release date to October 31. With GOAT likely to dominate screens across these regions, it is strategically positioned to set new box office records.
Vijay to play dual roles in 'GOAT'
While the plot details of GOAT remain closely guarded, the film is expected to be a commercial entertainer. Vijay will be seen in a dual role, portraying both a father and a son. The ensemble cast includes Sneha, Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Laila, Mohan, Jayaram, and Vaibhav. Meanwhile, in addition to the buzz in India, the film has also seen a significant surge in advance ticket sales in the USA. The collections jumped by over 850%.
'GOAT' is one of Vijay's last films before political plunge
GOAT is expected to be one of the last films for the south sensation Vijay as he plans to plunge into politics. He even launched his political party (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) some time back. His last film will be directed by H Vinoth. This news adds an extra layer of anticipation for the film as fans eagerly await one of Vijay's final performances.
