Why does this story matter?
Beast was 2021's most-tweeted Indian movie hashtag, while Vijay's first-look image from the Tamil action-thriller was the most-retweeted and liked post last year, so the buzz is huge. Also, the fact that it is Vijay's first theatrical release after more than a year makes it exciting for his fans. His last film to hit the cinema halls was Master, which was released last January.
Know more about the film
Pooja Hegde, last seen in the box office dud called Radhe Shyam, is the leading lady in Beast. Meanwhile, Dilipkumar's frequent collaborator Anirudh Ravichander has composed its music. So far, makers have released two songs, Arabic Kuthu and Jolly O Gymkhana. Now that the release date has been announced, we can expect the team to share more songs, teasers, and trailers of the film.
What do we know about the film so far?
Also written by Dilipkumar, Beast, touted to be a hostage-based invasion thriller, will have an emotional subtext of the Indian Army. Vijay will be seen rescuing people from a hostage situation at a shopping mall. Dilipkumar is known for his dark humor; so Beast might have a heavy satire quotient. Manoj Paramahamsa is the cinematographer, while R Nirmal is taking care of the edits.
Is a Hindi remake of 'Beast' on the cards?
Talks on Beast's Hindi remake are already making the rounds. According to Pinkvilla, "Multiple producers from the Hindi film industry are in talks with Sun Pictures to acquire the remake rights for an astronomical sum." Apparently, a top producer "known to be in good terms with multiple biggies of Southern industry," is actually about to lock the deal for a Hindi remake.
