Viineet Kumar Siingh wants 'Mukkabaaz' to re-release in theaters

In a recent interaction with OTTplay, actor Viineet Kumar Siingh revealed that he wants his 2018 film Mukkabaaz to be re-released in theaters.
Although he received critical acclaim for his role as boxer Shravan Kumar Singh in the Anurag Kashyap-directed movie, it didn't earn much at the box office.
Recalling this, Siingh said that he faced a lot of problems because of the film's failure.

Siingh candidly spoke about how Mukkabaaz's poor box office affected his career.
He said, "People praised Mukkabaaz and they liked the film a lot... Even today, people watch Mukkabaaz and talk about it but the (box office) numbers were not big. I had to face a lot of problems because of that."
The actor added he had to work hard for another six-seven years because of it.
Re-release request
'It will create a different record': Siingh on 'Mukkabaaz' re-release
Despite the initial setback, Siingh is hopeful about Mukkabaaz's success if it was re-released in theaters now.
He said, "I am 100% certain that if Mukkabaaz gets re-released today, it will create a different record. It will record different box office numbers."
The actor also feels the film would get an unprecedented level of love from audiences on its re-release.

Siingh's recent success with 'Chhaava'
Siingh also spoke about his latest release, Chhaava, which has been a box-office hit.
He said, "I'm very happy. Everyone had a complaint that Viineet's films don't do such numbers at the box office. But now, with these numbers, no one will say aapki koi aisi film nahi hain."
The actor added he has been trying to reach a larger audience for a while now.
The film is directed by Laxman Utekar and headlined by Vicky Kaushal.
