'Midas touch': Viineet Kumar defends Rashmika's casting in 'Chhaava'

In an interview with Zoom, Viineet Kumar Siingh came to the rescue of his Chhaava co-star Rashmika Mandanna who has been facing criticism over her casting.
He said, "Rashmika has worked hard and I have seen her putting blood and sweat in Chhaava."
"Rashmika ka kaisa hai na paras patthar hota hai. Paras patthar jis bhi cheez ko chhoo leta hai sona ban jata hai."
"Rashmika ka career aisa hai ki voh jis film mein hai itihas rach deti hai."

Mandanna also received support from co-star Divya Dutta
Mandanna also found an ally in her Chhaava co-star Divya Dutta.
Speaking to India Today Digital, Dutta stood up for Mandanna's performance and lauded her talent.
She said, "Although we didn't have scenes together, I believe she is an incredible actor."
"If you look at her kohl-rimmed eyes in certain scenes, they are simply mesmerizing."
"Let's not forget that she has delivered several hits, which clearly means she has something that resonates with the audience."

'Chhaava' also received PM Modi's praise
Released on Valentine's Day, Chhaava also got a shoutout from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He lauded Maharashtra and Mumbai for taking Marathi and Hindi cinema to new heights with films like Chhaava.
The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Diana Penty.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films.
It is an adaptation of the Marathi novel of the same name by Shivaji Sawant.
