'Jalsa': First-look posters of Vidya Balan, Shefali Shah released
Ahead of its global premiere, makers of the Hindi movie Jalsa have launched the first look posters of the lead stars Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah on social media on Monday. Along with the posters, it was also revealed that the Suresh Triveni directorial will hit Amazon Prime Video exclusively on March 18. Notably, Balan's last release Sherni was also a Prime Video Original.
What do we see in the images?
Sharing the posters on social media, Balan wrote, "The real story hides beneath her smile." And, fittingly enough, both Balan and Shah can be seen with taut-tensed smiles on their faces, while their translucent images show emotions of fear and shock. Understandably, the lead pair will have to school their actual emotions in front of the world for some undisclosed reason.

What would be plot of 'Jalsa'?
Sharing the same posters, Shah wrote on social media, "One never knows what lies under the surface." While the plot is being kept well-guarded, Jalsa is reported to be a social drama-thriller narrating a tale of class differences in society. This commentary will be made with a noted TV journalist (Balan) and her cook (Shah) at the center of focus.
Know more about the film's crew
Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment have come together to back the venture. This joint production association has previously produced Balan-led Sherni, Akshay Kumar's Airlift and Baby, and Nushrratt Bharuccha-starrer Chhorii. Triveni has also worked with Balan on 2017's Tumhari Sulu. The director has written Jalsa along with Prajwal Chandrashekar. It will co-star Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Gurpal Singh, and Surya Kasibhatla.
For now, 'Jalsa' does not have much competition
Looking back, Jalsa was announced in August last year by which time shooting had also started. A month later, Shah had revealed that she had wrapped up the shooting. For now, no other Indian film or show is hitting OTT services on March 18, except for Netflix's Eternally Confused and Eager for Love. Of course, Kumar's Bachchhan Paandey is coming to theaters that day.
