Vidya Balan announces her next, a web-series on Indira Gandhi
Vidya Balan, who was last seen in Telugu movies, N.T.R: Kathanayakudu and N.T.R: Mahanayakudu, has now announced her next project. According to media reports, she will now be working on a web series based on late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Reportedly, she will play the role of the legendary politician in the web series, which will be produced by her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Confirming the news, Vidya stated that she is looking forward to the project. "I am trying to do a web series which will be based on the life of Indira Gandhiji. As of now, we are trying to do it, but let's see how it takes shape," she added. Notably, this will be the Tumhari Sulu actor's first experience with digital platform.

Vidya also said that making a web series isn't a cake walk. "I feel doing a web series involves a lot of work. While doing a web series, a lot of people associate themselves with it as compared to making a film. So, it takes a lot of time. But when I'll do it, I'll make sure that it turns out well," she quipped.
Vidya to also portray Mayawati in a biopic
Earlier there were reports that Bollywood's Begum Jaan is also being considered for a biopic on Mayawati. Reportedly, director Subhash Kapoor is planning the biopic on the former UP CM. According to an exclusive report in Pinkvilla, Subhash had considered as many as 7-8 A-listers for the lead role. However, he, reportedly, finalized Vidya to portray the BSP chief on big screen.
