Triptii-Vicky-Ammy's 'Bad Newz' is based on true story: Report
Triptii Dimri, Vicky Kaushal, and Ammy Virk have been cast in Dharma Productions's upcoming film Bad Newz. Billed as a spiritual sequel to Good Newwz, the movie will portray Dimri caught in a pregnancy chaos and is directed by Anand Tiwari. Now, per a recent Mid-Day report, the film aims at exploring the rare medical phenomenon of heteropaternal superfecundation. It will be released on July 19.
Expect Dimri's chemistry with both the male leads
An insider shared with the portal, "While Good Newwz was about accidental sperm swap, Bad Newz is based on a medical condition called heteropaternal superfecundation, where a woman gets pregnant with twins from different men. The film is based on a true incident." In Bad Newz, audiences will see Dimri in romantic scenes with both Kaushal and Virk.
What does the term exactly mean?
Per the National Library of Medicine, "Heteropaternal superfecundation is an extremely rare phenomenon that occurs when a second ova released during the same menstrual cycle is additionally fertilized by the sperm cells of a different man in separate sexual intercourse." "Although it is rarely observed among humans given its low frequency, in paternity disputed for dizygotic twins it is mandatory to demand the presence of the two twins in the testing to avoid wrong conclusions."
Dimri to play a mainstream leading lady for the first-time
Moreover, the film provides Dimri the first chance to portray a lighter character after playing intense roles such as a doomed lover in Laila Majnu (2018), a revenge-seeking woman in Bulbbul (2020), and a singer battling depression in Qala (2022). "Triptii will be seen as a mainstream leading lady. Like Dharma heroines, she plays today's woman, an ambitious chef, who can go to any lengths to further her career," revealed an insider.
Upcoming movies of the three leads
Dimri is also set to appear in the horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Kartik Aaryan, and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video opposite Rajkummar Rao. She is also scheduled to star alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi in Karan Johar's untitled romantic drama, which is a remake of the Tamil hit Pariyerum Perumal (2018). Kaushal, on the other hand, has Love & War and Chhaava in the pipeline, while Virk's upcoming projects include Sufna 2 and Qismat 3, among others.
