Vicky Kaushal shares 'Sam Bahadur' teaser; release date announced
Actor Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share the first teaser of Meghna Gulzar directed Sam Bahadur. The film is based on the life of India's first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. This film has been making a lot of buzz ever since its announcement. It will feature Sanya Malhotra as Sam Manekshaw's wife Silloo and Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Meghna Gulzar is an adept filmmaker, with films such as Raazi, Talvar to her credit. So, the expectations from Sam Bahadur are certainly high.

In the clip shared by Kaushal, he can be seen walking amidst army personnel dressed in army uniform. While his face is not revealed in the clip, his look in uniform had earlier made rounds on social media. The film is bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies, and it will hit the theaters on December 1, 2023.

The cast of the film also includes Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, Richard Bhakti Klein, Saqib Ayub, Krishna Kant Singh Bundela, and others. In October, Kaushal shared photos from the first outdoor schedule of the film. For preparations, Kaushal had reportedly met Jehan, grandson of Manekshaw.
Who is Sam Manekshaw?
Sam Manekshaw is India's first Field Marshal who had a career at the Indian Army spanning over four decades. He had a crucial role in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. His military victory led to the creation of Bangladesh in 1971. Meghna Gulzar has good experience making biopics, one of them being Raazi based on Harinder Sikka's Calling Sehmat.
