Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike is setting the box office on fire. The movie not only enjoyed a glorious word of mouth, but Vicky aka Major Vihan Shergill also won hearts. This was the first time Vicky donned the uniform and he swept everyone off their feet. Understandably, it wasn't a cakewalk for Vicky to prepare for his role of para-commando.
Vicky underwent rigorous training for 'Uri'
DUring his session of Instagram Live today, Vicky revealed that he underwent intense training for his role of an army officer in Uri. His preparation included a month-long commando training followed by the rigorous exercise which helped him build his stamina. Vicky said that he gained around 15 kgs for Uri. An ex-military officer from the UK trained him in ammunition, the actor revealed.

Vicky did work really hard for his role and it resulted in a magnificent performance. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called Uri "a force to reckon with at box office". With a collection of Rs. 78.54 cr, Uri is setting new benchmarks with every passing day. It is expected that Uri will be entering the coveted Rs. 100 crore club this weekend.

Stunned by the incredible success, Vicky expressed his gratitude towards his fans during the interaction. The actor stated that Uri collections have come as a surprise for the entire team. "Thank you so much for your love for Uri. We, the team of Uri, are grateful for your love," he said. Notably, Uri has emerged as Vicky's biggest opener in the lead role.
Vicky begins shooting for his next movie
After the success of Uri, Vicky has started shooting for his next project. Although the actor didn't divulge details about his next movie, he stated that it is a genre that he is trying for the first time. Separately, there have been reports that Vicky will be seen in Karan Johar's high-concept horror film. The movie will also star Bhumi Pednekar.
