Difficult to play warring brothers with Ranveer Singh: Vicky Kaushal
Vicky Kaushal, who is set to collaborate with his fast friend from the industry Ranveer Singh for the first time in upcoming movie Takht, said that it would be 'difficult' to work with him. Wondering why? Well, because the period-drama pits the two against each other on the screen, while Vicky admits that he 'absolutely loves' Ranveer. Here's more on what Vicky said.
In 'Takht', Vicky to play Aurangzeb, Ranveer Dara Shikoh
Firstly, let us tell you that Karan Johar's Takht, a movie set in Mughal-era India, will showcase the conflicting relationship between emperor Aurangzeb, who will be played by Vicky, and his brother Dara Shikoh, to be essayed by Ranveer. However, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vicky confessed that his love for Ranveer might make it hard for them to play warring characters.
I absolutely love him, Vicky said about Ranveer
"I love him. I absolutely love him. There were times when we (were) sitting on each other's laps only. It's going to be a bit difficult to play warring brothers but I am looking forward to working with him," Vicky said about working with Ranveer.
Clearly, Vicky and Ranveer share a great personal bond
Even though Vicky has made it pretty clear, it's worth mentioning that the actor shares a great personal bond with Ranveer offscreen. Most recently, we got a glimpse of the amazing chemistry between the two actors, when they put a power-packed performance and danced to the tunes of Malhari from Ranveer's movie Bajirao Mastani, at the 65th Filmfare Awards held in Guwahati in February.
It's a completely different setup, Vicky said about 'Takht'
Expressing his excitement about the multi-starrer, Vicky told the publication, "It is a completely different setup. We don't know each other's energies yet. It's always fun when you collaborate with people and discover each other's energy and play with it." The actor added that he is looking forward to start doing workshops and reading sessions with the team of Takht.
'Takht' set to go on floors this month
Talking of Takht, the movie marks Johar's return to direction in Bollywood after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). It is also his first period-drama as a director. The ensemble cast of the movie also includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor. It is planned to go on floors this month, and will arrive in theaters on Christmas, next year.
