'Vettaiyan': Runtime, certification, and full cast details revealed
The much-anticipated action-drama flick Vettaiyan, featuring superstar Rajinikanth, is all set to hit the screens on October 10. The makers recently took to Instagram to announce its Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) rating as U/A, sharing, "The hunt is certified! VETTAIYAN gets the U/A stamp! Get ready for an action-packed extravaganza coming your way!" The movie has a runtime of two hours and 43 minutes.
Vettaiyan plot and Rajinikanth's role
In Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth is all set to play an IPS officer who specializes in tackling criminal encounters. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, who did a fantastic job with Jai Bhim, the film's storyline dives into ideological clashes and human rights issues. Plus, it's a big screen reunion for Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after 33 long years!

Vettaiyan features an impressive cast including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, Kishore, Rakshan, GM Sundar, Sabumon Abdusamad Abhirami, and Shaji Chen. Plus, composer Anirudh Ravichander will make a cameo. The advance booking for Vettaiyan has already begun.
Rajinikanth's health update and future projects
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth was recently hospitalized due to severe stomach pain. He underwent a successful medical procedure to treat a blood vessel swelling and is expected to be discharged in two days. After Vettaiyan, the actor will next be seen in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. This action flick will also feature Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao in lead roles.
