How it all began for Veerappan in entertainment industry
Veerappan's career in the film industry began as a producer and screenwriter. He financed and penned scripts for numerous films, many of which starred actor-politician MG Ramachandran as the lead actor. Their collaboration began in 1953 when Veerappan met MGR on the advice of his mentor CN Annadurai and joined his drama company as a manager. He later became executive director of the company Em.Gee.Yar Pictures. Nadodi Mannan was the first film released under this banner in August 1958.
Veerappan's pioneering contributions to Tamil cinema
Veerappan then ventured into film production, establishing his own production house, Sathya Movies. The banner's inaugural film, Deiva Thai, starring MGR in the lead role, debuted in 1964. Subsequently, MGR and RMV collaborated on numerous projects under this banner, including Kaavalkaran, Kannan En Kadhalan, and Idhaya Kani. It's noteworthy that Rickshawkaran, produced by Sathya Movies, earned MGR a National Award.
