Reeta Bhaduri, beloved on-screen mother, dies at 62
Veteran actor Reeta Bhaduri, known for portraying the mother in several television serials and movies, died last night after fighting kidney ailments for years. She was 62. She was still appearing as the grandmother in Star Bharat's 'Nimki Mukhiya.' In her career spanning more than three decades, Bhaduri appeared in over 70 films and serials, including 'Raja,' Julie,' 'Beta,' 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai' and 'Khichdi.'
Funeral to be held today at Andheri cremation ground
Bhaduri had been in the ICU for the past 10 days, and was reportedly undergoing dialysis every alternate day. Earlier, actor Amit Behl had said she was admitted in Sujay Hospital, Mumbai, for many days. Actor Shishir Sharma announced on Facebook that "the funeral rites will be held on 17th July, Tuesday 12 noon at the Cremation Ground, Parsi Wada Road, Parshiwada, Chakala, Andheri East."
Bhaduri's kitty contains more than 70 movies and 20 serials
Bhaduri, an FTII graduate of the 1973 batch, has been seen in movies like 'Hero No 1,' 'Virasat' and 'Dil Vil Pyar Vyar.' She has appeared in more than 20 TV shows, including 'Kumkum,' 'Amanat' and 'Choti Bahu.'
