Venkatesh Daggubati and Meena's 'Drushyam 2': Makers drop intriguing teaser
It is well known by now that Venkatesh Daggubati and Meena are reuniting for the sequel to their 2014 Telugu crime thriller Drushyam. The makers of the Jeethu Joseph directorial have now released its teaser while announcing that Drushyam 2 will be directly released on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform on November 25. The 52-second teaser shows some intense clips from the film.
Why does it matter?
Drushyam is the Telugu remake of the 2013 Malayalam film Drishyam, featuring Mohanlal and Meena in the lead. Drishyam 2 was released earlier this year. The nail-biting Drishyam was remade in Tamil, too, featuring Kamal Haasan and Gautami Tadimall as the central characters, titled Papanasam. While the Telugu version's first installment was directed by Sripriya, Mollywood filmmaker Joseph has himself helmed its sequel.
'Drushyam 2' teaser shows spine-chilling moments from the film
"Can the scars of the past ruin their future? In Rambabu's world, reality is stranger than fiction. Watch #Drushyam2OnPrime, Nov. 25 only on @PrimeVideoIN," makers posted on social media, sharing the teaser. The video shows a few glimpses of how the fate of Rambabu's (Daggubati) family changes when unexpected turns take place in their life. The crime thriller's first installment was a mega-hit venture.
Will the plot be the same as the Mollywood version?
Going by the second installment of the Mollywood version, Drushyam 2 will follow the life of Rambabu as cops revisit the fateful murder of the villain. Will the family be proved guilty or will they find their way out of the crime? Actors Meena, Kruthika Jayakumar, Esther Anil, and Nadiya were retained from the first Telugu installment which hit the big screens in 2014.

The remake was helmed by Srikanth Addala. He will be next seen in the rom-com F3 written and directed by Anil Ravipudi. The film has Tamannaah Bhatia, Mehreen Kaur Pirzada, and Varun Tej in key roles.
