'Vedaa' finally crosses ₹20cr mark on Day 14
John Abraham's latest action film, Vedaa, has been struggling at the box office since its release. The movie, which also stars Sharvari and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles, has seen a consistent decline in its collections. On Day 14, it finally crossed the ₹20 crore mark after earning ₹23 lakh. However, the overall performance of Vedaa continues to be underwhelming.
'Vedaa' box office collections: A detailed look
Vedaa started off with a decent ₹6.3 crore on Day 1, but the collections dropped to ₹1.8 crore on Day 2. The film managed to pick up slightly over the weekend, earning ₹2.7 crore and ₹3.2 crore on Days 3 and 4, respectively. However, the earnings have been on a downward trend since then, with the movie making less than ₹1 crore daily from Day 5 onward.
'Vedaa' vs 'Stree 2': A stark contrast
While Vedaa struggles to maintain its momentum, Stree 2 continues to dominate the box office. The horror-comedy sequel has been consistently earning double-digit figures since its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently tweeted, "Despite a dip in collections due to the regular working day [second Tue] and heavy rainfall in parts of the country, #Stree2 continues to display remarkable consistency."
'Stree 2' on track to cross ₹500cr mark
Adarsh further added that Stree 2 is on track to become the first Hindi film of 2024 to cross the ₹500 crore mark. This is a significant achievement, especially in comparison to Vedaa's struggle to cross the ₹20 crore mark after two weeks.
