'Vedaa' box office: John-starrer stands no chance before 'Stree 2'
John Abraham's latest action-drama Vedaa, co-starring Sharvari and Abhishek Banerjee, is struggling to make an impact at the box office. The movie, which was released on August 15 alongside Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein, has managed to rake in only ₹19.25 crore by the end of its 11th day. Here are more details on this.
'Vedaa' opened at ₹6.3 crore
Vedaa, which marks Abraham's return to the action genre after his villainous role in 2023's blockbuster Pathaan, opened at ₹6.3 crore. However, the film's earnings have been on a downward trend since then, with collections of ₹1.8 crore and ₹2.7 crore on its second and third days, respectively. By Day 11, Vedaa has managed to accumulate a total of ₹19.25 crore.
'Vedaa' lags behind 'Stree 2,' 'Khel Khel Mein'
Despite the star power of Abraham and Sharvari, who delivered one of 2024's biggest sleeper hits Munjya, Vedaa has been outperformed by Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein. The former, also featuring Banerjee, has left both Vedaa and Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein struggling at the box office.
'Vedaa' tells story of a Dalit girl seeking revenge
Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, tells the story of a Dalit girl who faces atrocities at the hands of powerful men from the upper community. She joins forces with an army guy, who trains her to take on the main villain. Speaking about the film, Abraham said, "I think it is a brave film to do, very brave."
