John Abraham-Sharvari's 'Vedaa' struggles, yet to touch ₹20cr
Nikkhil Advani's latest directorial venture, Vedaa, has had a sluggish performance at the box office. The film, produced by JA Entertainment, Emmay Entertainment and Zee Studios, has only managed to amass an estimated ₹18.50 crore across India since its release on August 15. Despite boasting a star-studded cast including John Abraham, Sharvari, Tamannaah Bhatia and Abhishek Banerjee, the film has been crushed under Stree 2's storm.
Looking at the film's recent numbers
On its tenth day in theaters, Vedaa added approximately ₹0.60 crore to its total earnings. The occupancy during the night shows was recorded at 41.84%, while the evening shows followed with 22.17%. Vedaa was released alongside Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein, and while the latter is similarly slow, Stree 2 has amassed over ₹300 crore!
Abraham recently spoke about the movie's underperformance
Speaking to Radio City, Abraham reacted to the film's underperformance. He said, "I'm very proud that we made a very good film. This is possibly Nikkhil and my best work together. Often, there's regret when your film doesn't work commercially. You feel bad. Usually, it stems from uncertainty about the film itself. But with Vedaa, we've got practically everything right." "People will find things to complain about with the screenplay, and that's fine. We respect everybody's point of view."
