'Vedaa' box office: John Abraham-starrer falls behind on Day 4
John Abraham-starrer action thriller Vedaa has seen a significant drop in its box office collection on the fourth day of its release. The film, which also features Sharvari, was released on Independence Day alongside Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and the Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao-starrer Stree 2. Despite a promising start, Vedaa has now fallen behind in the box office race.
'Vedaa' earned ₹2.7 crore on fourth day
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Vedaa earned ₹2.7 crore on its first Sunday, a slight increase from its Saturday collection of ₹2.45 crore. However, the film's overall box office collection now stands at ₹13.25 crore, trailing behind Khel Khel Mein, which has earned ₹13.95 crore in its first weekend. Meanwhile, Stree 2 has crossed the ₹190 crore mark.
'Vedaa' sees 25.33% overall occupancy on Sunday
Vedaa saw an overall occupancy of 25.33% on Sunday, with the majority of the audience attending night shows. The film had about 481 shows in the National Capital Region (NCR) with an occupancy of 24.25%, and a total of 423 shows in Mumbai with an overall occupancy of 26.75%. It also had 306 shows in Ahmedabad and 126 shows in Surat.
'Vedaa' opened to mixed reviews from critics
Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, opened to mixed reviews from critics. While the performances of Abraham and Sharvari were praised, the film's script was criticized. Advani and Abraham had previously collaborated on the 2019 film Batla House, which was also an Independence Day release. It had opened to a strong ₹15.55 crore and maintained its numbers throughout. It was declared a critical and commercial success with a total box office collection of ₹113 crore.
