Vasan Bala wasn't happy with KJo sending Alia 'Jigra' script
Alia Bhatt is set to captivate audiences in the upcoming emotional thriller, Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and co-produced by Karan Johar. The film narrates the tale of a brave girl who embarks on a daring mission to save her brother, portrayed by debutant Vedang Raina. In a recent interview with Tried & Refused Productions, both Bhatt and Bala revealed intriguing details about their journey from initial concept to final script.
Bala was 'not happy' with Johar's early script share
Bala disclosed his initial displeasure when Johar prematurely shared a rough draft of the script with Bhatt. He told Tried & Refused Productions, "I had sent one very kaccha pakka (roughly drafted) email, very stream of consciousness thought, sent it to Karan. I think six or seven hours later, he called saying, 'I've already sent it to Alia.' I was really not happy with it."
'I would have at least done some spellcheck, grammar check...'
Bala further added, "I was like, 'I would have at least done some spellcheck, grammar check, hygiene, written some very nice hero entry.' So that email was sent, I was like, 'Why did you do this?'" "Karan said, 'No no this is how it works.'" He also revealed that he met Bhatt over a month after this incident to discuss the project in detail.
Bhatt's initial response and pursuit for complete script
Bhatt shared her initial reaction to the script, stating, "I responded when I heard the first half. I was like, 'Wow.' But even I was very intrigued, and I really liked his work." She further revealed that she felt incomplete without the second half of the script and pursued Bala for a month to receive it. "I chased him for one month for the second half, and then it came together," she added.
