Varun on 'Sui Dhaaga' success: My career has been funny
Varun Dhawan's latest release 'Sui Dhaaga' has done an incredible business at the box office. The movie, which was based on PM Narendra Modi's 'Make In India' campaign, has raked in a collection of Rs. 62.50 crore so far. Interestingly, this happens to be Varun's 11th hit in the row. Elated over the success, Varun said his journey in Bollywood has been quite funny.
Varun's transformation from chocolate boy to a method actor
Recalling his journey, Varun said that there was a time when people used to call him a chocolate boy. Remember his initial movies 'SOTY' and 'Main Tera Hero'? But now, he is all about good performances and big box office numbers. "People used to call me chocolate boy and are now talking about my performances," he added. Well, that's what growth looks like.
Anushka is happy with the love for 'Sui Dhaaga' too
Anushka Sharma, who plays the lead female lead in 'Sui Dhaaga', also expressed her happiness over movie's success. She said not just the box office success, she is also happy about the love the movie has received. "I always believed that this film would reach the masses. I feel glad that our collaborative efforts have worked for the film," she said.
Film's success gives me a sense of validation: Anushka
Anushka has been appreciated for her transformation and performance in 'Sui Dhaaga'. The actress stated that whenever she does diverse work or the 'so-called' risky roles and they are well received, it gives her a sense of validation. "I get a validation from the audience that I am making the right choices and I should continue to do so," Anushka added.
