Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' to hit screens on January 12
Good news for all the Thalapathy Vijay fans. His highly anticipated film Varisu has got a Pongal release. The distributors of Varisu have officially announced that the bilingual film will hit the screens on the occasion of Pongal, on January 12. With this, the box office will witness a major clash, as Ajith Kumar's Thunivu is also set for the same release.

Vijay and Mandanna’s sizzling chemistry
Recently, the makers of Varisu released the first single from the movie, titled 'Ranjithame.' The song, released in Tamil and Telugu versions, became an instant hit with the audience. It has also been receiving great responses from viewers for the sizzling chemistry shown between Thalapathy and Mandanna. Apart from the chemistry, the song's peppy tunes have also hit right with audiences.
Tamil, Telugu versions to witness clash at the box office
Expectations of Vijay's bilingual film performing well at the box office are very high, especially given the anticipation that has been going on around the film. However, it will witness big clashes at Tamil and Telugu box offices. Apart from competing with Ajith Kumar's Thunivu, Vijay's film's Telugu version will also clash with Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy.
'Varisu' to also release in Hindi
Apart from its Tamil and Telugu release, Varisu will also release in Hindi, confirmed Dil Raju, during a television interview. Meanwhile, per reports, the music rights to Varisu have been acquired by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, for a sum of Rs 5 crore. As far as the film's title is concerned for the Hindi version, per reports, it has tentatively been titled Vaaris.
