Urmila Matondkar teases acting comeback!
Bollywood actor Urmila Matondkar, known for her roles in films like Satya, Rangeela, and Bhoot, has expressed her eagerness to return to acting. The acclaimed actor, who was last seen in a special dance number in the 2018 movie Blackmail, clarified that her political and social work has not ended her acting career. Matondkar has also completed shooting for an upcoming web series.
'I can never stop acting,' says Matondkar
In a recent interview with The Times of India, Matondkar shared her passion for acting and dancing. She said, "I think a lot of people believe that I am not acting anymore because of my political and social work, but that's not true." She added, "Whatever else I do is one part of my life, but I can never stop acting."
Matondkar feels the calling to return to screen
Matondkar revealed that she feels a strong urge to return to the big screen or OTT platforms. She said, "I really think it is time! I can feel the calling to get back to the big screen or on OTT." "I want to be sure about the projects that I choose as it should be worth my time. I also feel that everything in life is about timing. there is a right time for everybody and everything."
Matondkar's political career and upcoming projects
Matondkar joined the Indian National Congress in 2019 and contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North constituency, but lost. Later, she resigned from the party citing "petty in-house politics." In 2020, she joined the Shiv Sena. During her illustrious career, she actively worked with director Ram Gopal Varma and is known for movies such as Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara and Jungle, among others.
