After massive success, 'Uri' to be adapted in three languages?
Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike continues its winning run at the box office. The movie, which released on January 11, remains unstoppable and made a collection of Rs. 115.87 cr so far. The movie is being loved by one and all. Given the stupendous success of Uri, the filmmakers are planning to adapt it in three different languages - Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
'Uri' sets box office on fire
Helmed by Aditya Dhar, Uri is winning hearts since the first day. Besides, positive word of mouth is also helping it in maintaining its dream run at the box office. Uri has gripped the nation and is in no mood to slow down anytime soon. In fact, Uri surprised everyone after it earned more in its second week of release than the first week.
South filmmakers are keen to adapt 'Uri'
Given Uri's massive success, the South Indian filmmakers have approached producer Ronnie Screwvala to adapt it in vernacular languages. "The film will feature actors popular in the respective industries. The details are expected to be decided within two weeks. The films are likely to go on floors by mid-year," a source stated. Meanwhile, there are no details available regarding the price of the deal.
'Uri' to be Vicky's first trilingual movie
If the reports turned out to be true, Uri will become Vicky's first trilingual movie. Notably, Uri has given many firsts to Vicky. It became his highest opener and his first blockbuster in the lead role. Besides, it is also his first movie as a lead to be a part of the coveted Rs. 100 crore club. Quite a happy moment for Vicky!
Vicky credits Aditya Dhar for 'Uri' success
With the thunderous response to Uri, Vicky is certainly the man of the hour. However, the actor credits Uri's success to his director Aditya Dhar. He feels that it was because of Aditya and Ronnie's conviction that Uri became a blockbuster hit. "A film can turn an actor into a star, but a star can't guarantee a great film on his own," he added.
Separately, Vicky to be a part of horror movie
After basking in the success of Uri, Vicky will next be seen in Karan Johar's upcoming horror movie opposite Bhumi Pednekar. Reportedly, the actor has also begun shooting for the movie. Further, Vicky will also be seen in Karan Johar's multi-starrer project Takht next year which stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bhumi Pednekar
